Have you ever wanted to create a custom piece of jewelry but didn’t know where to start? Maybe you’ve been curious about working in 3D but felt intimidated by complicated user interfaces or lacked a fundamental understanding of 3D principles. Regardless of your current comfort level working in 3D, this workshop has been designed to help you visualize your idea and have it produced online in an array of material options.

TAKEAWAYS
By the end of the workshop, participants will:

  • Know how to download and install Blender and Inkscape
  • Understand basic concepts related to 3D modeling such as vertices/edges/polygons, edit and object modes, and using modifiers to manipulate geometry
  • Create elegant forms with basic booleans, arrays, shrink-wrapping and “kit-bashing” techniques to make detailed designs suitable for 3D-printing and traditional lost-wax casting
  • Feel confident specifying materials and uploading 3D models for online production

COURSE FEE: $40 instructional fee (Students are responsible for the separate cost of 3D-printing their designs, which will depend on size, shape and materials).
